Blessings of Comfort and Joy
It has been a busy holiday season at the Mission filled with hope and joy.
For many of our guests, it is difficult to spend the holidays away from family and friends. They have come to the Mission ready for change but the reality is the journey towards getting your life back is never easy. But thanks to our amazing Mission Family, our guests have hope and a future. This year, our guests got to spend their holidays with the biggest family they’ve ever had. And it’s only possible because of people like YOU!
Here’s just some of the ways that you made a difference in the lives of our guests and throughout our cities this holidays season.
Our Thanksgiving Day outreach is our biggest outreach of the year. Our friends at Community Renewal help us compile a list of families and individuals in need throughout our community. On Thanksgiving Day, our kitchen team prepped 1,300 meals and volunteers from Purpose Church in Bossier City came to help us package the meals. Volunteers from throughout the community showed up to help deliver those meals.
Special thank you to Bryan Roppolo and the Giving BAK Foundation team for smoking our turkeys. Thank you Frymaster for hosting a drive to complete our meal needs. And thank you Mission Family for generous giving to meet the needs!
In addition, this Christmas marked 14 years of Project Mission Tree. This year, our Mission Family provided over 400 gifts to men, women, and children in our Life Recovery Program. Santa showed up and our guests were treated to a wonderful meal from TaMolley’s sponsored by our friends at Louisiana Timber Partners. We read the Christmas Story, handed out gifts, and sang Christmas carols together.
As we look to 2024, we have big dreams. We have expanded our outreach and continue to grow our HOPE365 Street Outreach Ministry to meet the needs of our neighbors.
While the holidays can be hard for many, you made this season brighter for our guests and our cities. Thank you for partnering with us this holiday season. YOU are changing our cities one life at a time!
